Accident

Rynae came home with a da bao today. A really BIG one. But.... it's non edible. Her teacher recounted the accident to me in school that Rynae had stepped on a toy, slipped and hit hard on the tiled floor. However, when we reached home, her account of it does not tally with her teacher's. Rynae complained that Faid, a Malay classmate had pushed her and caused her to fall! Why didn't the both teachers see it? I'm gonna bring justice to light the next time she goes to school. Accidentals are forgiven but not school bullies! I rubbed a hard boiled egg on her bao and applied zam buk thereafter. Worse still, the bao's gonna turn purplish tommorrow!

A Piece of Cake

Mummy has got something up her sleeves but unfortunately her printer has ran out of ink. The very next day after Daddy replenished it, Mummy spent hours going through her files for teaching aids to print for the little tyke. Rynae has always like birthday cakes and Mummy has in her archieve, a paper made cake which she downloaded from 3EyedBear.com. Each slice of cake came with a candle each but I felt that the candle's too flimsy so didn't retain it. Several issues back, 8-days magazine gave a credit mention about this website for its FREE paper crafts and I do find some interesting paper kits there! So, now Rynae can have her piece of cake and eat it!

Birthday Party @ KindyRoo

Saturday finally arrived. From the moment Rynae woke up, she's been told to coorporate in getting ready for everything (from drinking milk to going to the toilet, to bathing) because we would be bringing her to Asher's birthday party. Aren't she excited as she lurves birthdays. It was our first trip to Turf City and not to mention, KindyRoo, where the party will be held. Turf City wasn't the least ideal place for shopping but I guess the place could survive with its high spending power customers (a lot ang mos) who either frequent there for food in children friendly restaurants or to send their children for enrichment courses.

Rynae needed no warming up upon arrival and without wasting a second, began her crawlings, climbings, jumpings and rollings around the vicinity. This is an entertaining venue for active kids indeed!

Looks like outward bound ya?

These are not all! There was a wall for climbing, some toys and books!

There were eleborated and participative story telling sessions in the cafe too! Aren't the miniature furniture cute? Mind you, they aren't cheap ok? I saw it priced at $100+ in Raffles City, for just an armchair men!

Stealing limelight from Birthday Boy...

And a volunteer to eat the cream.... before anyone else... *faint*

DIY Paper Bag

Cousin Asher's gonna have a birthday celebration on Saturday and mum thought of getting Rynae involved in the gift preparation (non monetary of course cus the little girl's broke!). The only and most sensible thing to do is to ask her to paint and then transform the painted piece into a paper bag. Additionally, Rynae made a hand-shape card for Asher too! When I showed her the completed gift wrapping, she could recognise her own artwork and claimed credit for it!

Honestly, Rynae's not too thrifty with her usage of paint and smeared thick paint coated strokes onto the vanguard sheet. Lucky mum started way ahead. Cus you know what? It took 5 days for the paint to dry completely!

Pizza Making Day

Rynae's teacher has requested to bring a tupperware and a slice of cheese for today's pizza making activity, to elaborate on the current theme - Pete's a Pizza. I did a google search and the book is selling at US$11.55 in Amazon. Actually I find the book cover familiar.. Think I should have seen it somewhere before.

When I went to pick her up from school this morning, she was dressed in paper-made apron and crown hat, every bit like a chef! She brought home a pizza too and we shared it together. It actually taste quite nice! Yummilicious!

Alien Invasion

After watching Stephen Chow's CJ7, grandma got to know of a new character - a lion-looking pet alien (named Qi Zai) and Rynae was being introduced to it soon enough. The 'pet's' rather attention catching, making squeaky noises every few minutes so we decided to unplug its battery supply. Rynae called this green creature her pet and had quite some fun ferrying it around the house in her scooter and tricycle. Catch some sniplets of it.... Pardon her. She isn't too gentle with her 'pet' though...

Letter of the Week

Rynae came home with yet another craft yesterday - a letter C hanging mobile made from dough. Though she knows her alphabets long ago, it is still an interesting way of educating the children, letter by letter. Well, at this rate, if the school teaches 1 letter per week, it would take them a whole year to learn all 26 alphabets!

Swimming @ Laguna

For the first time, for 2 consecutive days, Rynae was brought swimming. This time to faraway land - Laguna Golf and Country Club. Da Yi has been singing praises of its pool facilities so we ought to go there to experience it. There were slides but expectedly, Rynae daren't use them. Nonetheless, she enjoyed the company and commented that she would like to go again.

Tampines Swimming Complex

It was our 2nd visit to the Tampines Swimming Complex with Rynae's cousin. We had actually wanted to cancel the swimming trip as NEA's website weather report stated that it would rain in Tampines. Apparently it wasn't accurate.

We were first to reach so we changed Rynae and let her play with the water while waiting for them. I noticed that it takes her much shorter time to warm up now than previous swimming trips and I accord that to frequent visits to pools. There were 2 slides but she was too afraid to use them. She was satisfied playing with the shallow water all right.

A musician in the making

Rynae has requested for a violin for the longest time and her wish was finally fulfilled by Ah Ma. The only complain she has about the violin is that there're no (professional) music coming out when she strum it. Errr... well.. practise makes perfect.... Gagagaga...

A messy treat!

Rynae ate her porridge cooperatively and knowing that, she asked for an ice-cream as a reward. I opened up the newly bought Moo cone ice-cream and shoved her one to eat by herself. Split seconds later, I decided to spot check her. Lucky I did so, cus you cannot underestimate the mess! Never never leave your children to eat ice-cream cone by themselves. See what happen here...

Acceptable mess

Hmm.... heavenly.... more mess...

Oh my god!

3 Little Pigs

I was being asked for 5 toilet rolls and 1 shoe box the previous week and I finally saw the end product today - 1 toilet roll wolf and 1 shoe box pig. In the curriculum update by Rynae's teacher, I understood that the class was told the classic tale of 3 little pigs henceforth these crafts help to reinforce the story in their mind and to spark their imagination. The pig was the biggest craft done so far and I do have a moment of dilemma (due to shortage of storage space) whether I should just trash it away. I didn't of course. Maybe let it sit on the shelf and collect some dust to show my appreciation first. Haha.

First Morning Swim

In recent weeks, late afternoons always showered or the skies were always packed with vapour choked clouds. For the first time, we went swimming in the morning instead of taking our chance in the afternoon! Rynae woke up early that Saturday morning and that gave us ample time to prepare for the swim. We hit the pool before 11am and gosh! The water sure was chilling! Embarrassingly, my used-to-warm-baths body took a while to adjust to the low temperature. Sun was soon out and the heat coming from the morning sun made me feel so athletic.... psychologically....
